Candace Parker, the prolific WNBA star, was set to launch her new shoe collection with adidas. The only thing missing was a formal announcement to friends, family and media outlets. Our friends over at Hovers Over Water designed a beautiful seeding kit, but needed help executing an AR feature that would provide unique interactions and storytelling opportunities.
While the initial ask was simple (a video appearing above the box), we knew AR provided much more of an opportunity for engagement, so we developed four custom designed and developed experiences that helped tell Candace’s story through 3D interactions and gamification. This thing had to be impressive, after all, Beyonce and Jay-Z were on the recipient list.
Ultimately, the piece received high praise from both adidas and the recipients. We went on to develop a version of this that could be leverage for in-store activations.
